Entering an item into the flower show might seem like a daunting prospect but it really isn’t!
Firstly have a look at the schedule. There are lots of different categories to enter, photography, baking, flower arranging etc. Once you decide what you want to enter make sure you will have the right amount of items, some veg classes need 10 soft fruit, and some need 5 leeks. There is no point entering if your veg patch only has 2 carrots and you need 3!
The week before the show there will be a box at the village shop where you can post your entry forms (You can use the form below or you can just put your entries clearly on a piece of paper with your name on.
You can also email to sfss@mail.com by 6pm on the Thursday before the Show.) Late entries are accepted in person up to 10 am on the morning of the Show.
It costs 20p per entry or 30p on the morning of the show if you are a bit late or grow a last-minute carrot.

I would also like to renew my membership to the society for 2023 and I enclose £……………….. Membership rates are £5 per person and £10 per Family. Schedules and membership cards will be distributed in early 2023
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
You do need to be a member so you can join on the morning of the show or get in touch beforehand via the contact page in the menu above. You can also put a note and your entry money in with your entry form explaining that you would like to stay a member for the following year.
On the day you need to get in there nice and early. Doors open around 8:30am to come in and stage your items. There will be people there to help you, usually wearing green jumpers, and the atmosphere is very friendly. Let the person at the desk know who you are and what you are exhibiting – Let them know if you have already entered via one of the boxes or if you are entering that morning. They will give you some cream pieces of paper with your entry number and class number on. Find the table with the class number on it and pop your entry down along with your piece of paper next to it (turn it over to hide your name). If you are stuck on whether your entry looks correct, just grab a committee member (green jumper) and ask for help.
You will need to be set up before 10:30 and will have to leave while the judging takes place.
Come back in the afternoon to see if you have won and celebrate with a cup of tea and some cake!
GOOD LUCK!
